CO WTSD
CO WTSD
Cutoff Went to Showdown Rate CO WTSD The frequency at which a player in the Cutoff position goes to showdown after entering the pot.
Overview
CO WTSD is a statistic in poker data tracking that indicates the percentage of times a player reaches showdown after entering a pot from the cutoff position. This statistic is typically calculated by poker tracking software such as Hold'em Manager or PokerTracker, and is used to assess a player's tendency to continue betting, raising, or calling through to the river and showdown from this position.
Calculation Method
CO WTSD = (Number of times the player reaches showdown after entering a pot from the cutoff) / (Total number of times the player enters a pot from the cutoff).
Interpretation and Application
- High CO WTSD (e.g., > 40%): Indicates that the player rarely folds after entering a pot from the cutoff and tends to go to showdown. This may mean the player is unwilling to give up the pot postflop, or they control the pot by checking when holding strong hands. Opponents can exploit this by applying more pressure postflop to force a fold.
- Low CO WTSD (e.g., < 25%): Indicates that the player is likely to give up on the flop or turn after entering the pot, often meaning they only continue with strong hands or fold frequently to bets. Opponents can exploit this tendency by raising.
Example
Suppose a player enters a total of 100 pots from the cutoff and reaches showdown 30 times. Their CO WTSD would be 30%. In a typical 6-max game, a solid player's CO WTSD is roughly between 25% and 35%.
Notes
- CO WTSD should be interpreted in conjunction with other statistics (e.g., VPIP, PFR, AF) to avoid biased conclusions.
- Data may be unreliable with a small sample size; at least several thousand hands are generally recommended for meaningful analysis.
- Different game types (cash games, tournaments) or opponent styles can affect the interpretation of this statistic.
