CO WWSF
CO WWSF
Term: Cutoff Win at Showdown Frequency CO WWSF Refers to the frequency at which a player, when in the Cutoff CO position, wins at showdown after their hand goes to showdown.
Definition
CO WWSF is one of the HUD statistics in Texas Hold'em, short for Cutoff When Winning Showdown Frequency. It measures the proportion of hands that a player wins when reaching showdown from the cutoff position (the position one seat to the right of the hijack, i.e., Under the Gun+1).
Calculation Method
This metric is calculated as: Number of winning hands that went to showdown from the CO position / Total number of hands that went to showdown from the CO position × 100%. A sufficiently large sample size (e.g., several thousand hands) is required for statistical significance.
Application Scenarios
- Evaluating Aggression: A high WWSF (e.g., greater than 55%) typically indicates the player is passive in the CO position, tending to only enter showdown with strong hands and win. A low WWSF (e.g., less than 45%) may suggest the player is overly aggressive in the CO position, frequently bluffing or entering pots with marginal hands, leading to a lower win rate at showdown.
- Formulating Counter-Strategies: Against opponents with a high WWSF, you can more frequently value bet them, as they are likely to hold strong hands at showdown. Against opponents with a low WWSF, you can increase bluffs or semi-bluffs, as they have a lower showdown win rate.
- Combining with Other Metrics: Requires combined analysis with CO VPIP (voluntarily put money in pot), PFR (preflop raise percentage), AF (aggression factor), etc., to avoid misjudgment. For example, if CO WWSF is low but VPIP is also low, it may indicate the player rarely enters pots but loses more than they win when they do, possibly just variance. If CO WWSF is low while VPIP is high, it may indicate a loose-aggressive player.
Notes
- This metric only reflects results at showdown and cannot account for fold equity.
- Influenced by position and table dynamics, normal ranges may vary across different stakes or opponent styles. Generally, CO WWSF in the range of 40%-60% is common.
