面对MP持续下注弃牌率(Fold to C-Bet from MP)

Fold to C-Bet from MP

Refers to the frequency at which a player folds when facing a continuation bet from a player in middle position MP after the flop.

Overview

Fold to C-Bet from MP is a statistical metric in poker data analysis that measures a player's response to a continuation bet from a specific position opponent. This data is typically derived from historical hands using poker tracking software (such as Hold'em Manager or PokerTracker).

Calculation Method

The formula for this metric is: number of times a player folds to a flop continuation bet from a middle position player divided by the total number of times they face such a continuation bet, multiplied by 100%. For example, if a player folds 60 times out of 100 instances of facing an MP continuation bet, their Fold to C-Bet from MP is 60%.

Applications

  • Opponent Exploitation: When a player shows an abnormally high value for this metric (e.g., over 70%), it indicates they tend to over-fold against MP continuation bets. In such cases, when holding MP position on the flop, you can frequently continuation bet to force them to surrender the pot.
  • Self-Adjustment: If your own value is too high, it becomes exploitable by opponents, so you need to increase your calling or raising frequency to maintain balance.
  • Trend Analysis: Combined with other metrics (such as C-Bet frequency, Fold to C-Bet Overall, etc.), you can gain a more comprehensive understanding of a player's overall tendencies.

Notes

  • Sample Size: This metric requires a sufficient sample size (typically recommended at least 100 instances) to be statistically meaningful. Small sample sizes lead to excessive variance and unreliability.
  • Position Differences: A player's fold rate may vary significantly when facing continuation bets from different positions. MP is a middle position, and its range is generally tighter than the button, so this metric may differ from values against other positions.
  • Board Texture: The specific flop texture (dry or wet) also affects fold rates. On high-card or draw-heavy boards, fold rates may decrease.
  • Opponent Tendencies: This metric may dynamically change depending on the opponent's style.

Typical Range (For Reference Only)

Generally, in low-stakes online cash games, the common range for this metric is between 40% and 60%. Below 35% may indicate a player calls too often, while above 65% suggests they fold too much. However, specific values vary depending on game type, player style, and stack depth.
