Poker Term

劫位河牌圈5-Bet加注(干燥牌面)(HJ River 5-Bet Dry)

On the river, the Hijack player makes a fifth bet 5-bet against the opponent's 4-bet, and the board is dry no flush or straight draw possible.

Background

This term combines position (HJ), betting round (River), level of raise (5-Bet), and a description of board texture (Dry), making it a highly specific poker scenario. In regular games, a 5-Bet preflop is already rare, and a 5-Bet on the river is even rarer, typically occurring only in deep-stacked or highly aggressive sessions.

Strategic Implications

  • On a dry board (e.g., no flush or straight draws), river hand strength is highly polarized: either a strong made hand (such as trips or better) or a pure bluff.
  • As a 5-Bet, it requires a large proportion of the pot, so it usually represents very strong hand strength, rarely used as a bluff.
  • The HJ position on the river acts as one of the last players, offering positional advantage, but the 5-Bet itself exposes an extremely strong range.

Notes

Since this term appears very infrequently in practice and lacks broad consensus, its existence may be questionable. Some poker theory discussions may use it as an extreme hypothetical example. It is recommended to rely on such concepts cautiously in actual play.
