小盲偷盲范围(Small Blind Stealing Range)
Small Blind Stealing Range
The range of starting hands used by the small blind player to steal the blinds by raising in an unraised pot.
Concept
The Small Blind Steal range refers to the hand combinations with which the small blind raises proactively to capture dead money (antes and blinds), despite being at a positional disadvantage (acting first post-flop). The core of this strategy is to exploit the big blind's possible fold equity and win the pot outright.
Strategic Considerations
- Opponent's Fold Rate: The success of a steal depends on the big blind player's tendency to fold. Against a big blind who folds frequently, the small blind can raise with a wider range; otherwise, it should be tightened.
- Positional Disadvantage: The small blind is in the worst position post-flop (acting first on every street). Therefore, the stealing range usually includes playable hands such as pairs, suited connectors, Ax-type hands, etc., which retain some playability even if called.
- Pot Odds: When the small blind raises, the cost of the big blind is already low (0.5BB already invested). Raising to 2.5BB or 3BB only requires an additional ~2BB, making the steal attractive.
Common Range Examples (Not Absolute)
- Very tight: Only raises JJ+, AK, and other strong hands.
- Aggressive: Raises all pairs, any Ax, suited connectors (e.g., 54s+), and even some offsuit connectors.
- Balanced: About 20%-30% of hands, depending on the opponent.
Notes
- Avoid over-stealing: If the big blind frequently fights back (3-bets or calls), reduce the range.
- Adjust based on stack depth: In deep stacks, suited connectors gain more value; in short stacks, medium pairs and high broadways are more beneficial.
- Balance the range: Mix strong hands and weak hands when stealing, without making your strategy easily readable.
