中间位跟注站漏洞(Middle Position Calling Station Leak)

When a player in middle position calls frequently like a calling station, lacks raising and folding, thereby creating a tactical weakness that opponents can exploit.

Overview

The middle position calling station leak refers to a player in the middle position (MP, approximately the 4th-6th action position) exhibiting calling station behavior: frequent passive calls, few raises, low fold rate, making them easy to exploit by experienced opponents.

Causes

  • Overly wide hand range, habitually calling with marginal hands to see the flop.
  • Insufficient understanding of positional advantage, failing to realize that the middle position requires stronger starting hands and more aggressive action.
  • Fear of bluffing or unwillingness to give up blinds already invested, leading to excessively high call frequency.

Leak Manifestations

  • Pre-flop: Flat calling with many weak hands instead of raising or folding, giving the blinds cheap looks at the flop.
  • Post-flop: Continuously calling opponent bets, rarely raising or folding, allowing opponents to easily profit with value hands.
  • Opponents can exploit this leak: Raise with a wide range in position, continuation bet post-flop to force the calling station to pay off with weak hands.

Correction Methods

  • Tighten the calling range in middle position, only calling or raising with strong hands (e.g., high pairs, big broadways).
  • Increase pre-flop raising frequency to isolate fish and take the initiative.
  • Post-flop, fold or raise appropriately based on board texture and opponent tendencies, avoiding passive calling.
  • Pay attention to balance to prevent being reverse exploited.
