中间位置河牌圈彩虹面过牌-弃牌(MP River Check-Fold Rainbow)

MP River Check-Fold Rainbow

In middle position, when the river card brings a rainbow board all cards of different suits, adopt a strategy of check first, then fold if the opponent bets.

Position and Board

[MP] ([Middle Position]) refers to the middle position, usually the two seats after the under the gun position in a six-handed table (MP1, MP2). The River is the round where the last community card is dealt. [Rainbow Board] (Rainbow) means all community cards are of different suits, usually reducing the possibility of flush draws.

Strategy Logic

When the river board is a rainbow, due to the lack of flush possibilities, the opponent's bluffing range is relatively limited, especially for players who may have held flush draws. In this situation, if you have medium or marginal hand strength, [Check-Fold] is a reasonable defensive strategy to avoid losing value by being forced to call a bet.

Applicable Scenarios

  • Your hand has no strong made hand (e.g., top pair or better) and no drawing potential.
  • The opponent's range is value-heavy, and the rainbow board reduces their semi-bluff combos.
  • Position disadvantage: Being in middle position, you cannot act last on the river; checking allows you to observe the actions of later-position players.

Notes

This strategy is not a fixed pattern; it should be adjusted based on opponent tendencies, [Bet Sizing], and historical table dynamics. If the opponent bluffs frequently or uses small bet sizes, consider calling or raising. Although [Rainbow Board] reduces the possibility of flushes, opponents may still value bet with straights or sets.
