A squeeze play occurs when a player re-raises (3-bets) after an initial raise and one or more callers, putting pressure on the original raiser and the callers by forcing them to face a large bet with weak ranges. When executed from middle position, the squeeze leverages positional advantage and the presence of dead money (the callers' chips) to generate immediate profit or steal the pot.

When to Use

MP squeeze is most effective when:

• An early position (EP) player raises and one or more players call from late position or the blinds.
• The original raiser is likely to have a wide range and fold to a re-raise often.
• The callers are loose passive or have high fold-to-3-bet percentages.
• You hold a hand that plays well against a narrow calling range (e.g., suited connectors, small pairs) but can also be a bluff with weak hands.

Typical stack sizes for this play are 100 big blinds or deeper, as it allows enough fold equity and playability postflop.

Key Considerations

• Range: Your squeezing range should be polarized: strong value hands (e.g., TT+, AQ+) and bluffs (e.g., A2s-A5s, suited connectors). Avoid medium-strength hands like KJo or AT, as they are dominated if called.
• Sizing: Make the re-raise large enough to deny odds to the original raiser and callers.
