Poker Term

小盲转牌下注-跟注(彩虹面)(SB Turn Bet-Call Rainbow)

Small blind bets on the turn on a rainbow board, then calls when facing a raise.

Term Explanation

"SB Turn Bet-Call Rainbow" consists of several components: SB (Small Blind), Turn, Bet-Call (bet first then call), Rainbow (all community cards are of different suits, no flush draw possible). This term describes a situation where the player in the small blind position may have checked or bet on the flop, then on the turn, after assessing the board is dry and there is no flush draw threat, they actively bet; when the opponent raises, they believe their hand strength is sufficient to call.

Strategic Background

On a rainbow turn, flush draws are eliminated, and straight draws from the flop are also reduced. The board favors made hands. Due to the positional disadvantage (acting first post-flop), the small blind's bet is usually for value or to protect a medium-strength hand (such as top pair, two pair, etc.). When facing a raise, calling may lead to difficult decisions on the river due to poor position. However, if the hand has improvement potential (e.g., a made hand with a draw) or if the opponent's raising range is perceived as wide, calling is reasonable.

Typical Scenario

Example: Flop is K♠ 8♥ 3♦ (rainbow), turn is 2♣ (still rainbow). Small blind holds K♦Q♣ (top pair, weak kicker), bets about 2/3 pot, the button raises two times. Small blind calls, planning to check-call on the river or decide based on the board.

Notes

  • Before calling, assess the opponent's raising range: is it only value raises or does it include bluffs?
  • With position disadvantage, calling often leads to a passive river situation; consider planning river actions in advance.
  • A rainbow board prevents flush draw bluffs, so opponent raises are more likely value-oriented; calling requires sufficient hand strength.
