Poker Term

枪口+1翻牌前双枪静态(UTG+1 Preflop Double Barrel Static)

After raising from UTG+1 preflop, a playstyle of continuously betting on the flop and turn with a fixed betting strategy.

Term Composition

This term consists of three parts:

  • UTG+1: Position, referring to the next seat after the under-the-gun (UTG) position, which is an early position.
  • Preflop Double Barrel: A preflop raise (as the first barrel), followed by a bet on the flop (second barrel), and a bet on the turn (third barrel). However, "Double Barrel" typically only refers to consecutive bets on the flop and turn, excluding the preflop. Here, the preflop raise may be considered the first barrel, forming three consecutive bets.
  • Static: Static, meaning that bet sizing, range, or strategy does not adjust based on board texture or opponent actions, remaining a predetermined fixed pattern.

Strategic Implication

This describes an aggressive and mechanical approach used from early position: after raising preflop, regardless of the flop structure, continue betting on the flop and turn with a fixed bet size (e.g., uniformly 2/3 of the pot). This strategy aims to exploit positional disadvantage with straightforward aggression to force opponents to fold. However, a static strategy is easy to exploit due to its high predictability.

Typical Application Scenarios

This term is mostly used in theoretical discussions or teaching scenarios, and rarely appears in actual high-level play, as skilled players dynamically adjust based on board texture and opponent tendencies. It can serve as an example for beginners learning about position and betting rounds.

Notes

"Preflop Double Barrel" is not a standard poker term; in standard terminology, a preflop raise is not counted as a "barrel". Therefore, this term may be ambiguous, and the context must be clarified when using it.
