UTG+1位河牌干燥漂浮(UTG+1 River Float Dry)
In the UTG+1 position, a strategy for floating bluffing on a dry river board.
Position and Background
UTG+1 is one of the earliest positions at a ten-handed table, acting just after UTG. The preflop range from this position is typically tight, but postflop the player may still leverage positional advantage (if not in a three-way pot) to apply pressure.
Dry Board
A dry board refers to a board texture that does not easily generate strong draws, e.g., a rainbow board with wide gaps between ranks (such as K-7-2 rainbow). On such boards, players who flop top pair or an overpair often continue betting, while drawing hands or weak holdings are more likely to check or fold.
River Float
"Float" originally means calling on the flop with a backdoor draw or air, planning to bet the turn as a bluff. Here, "River Float" extends this concept: after checking or calling on both the flop and turn, the player bets on the river, representing either a strong rivered hand or a slow-played monster. Dry boards are particularly suitable for this strategy because opponents are less likely to have improved to a draw later.
Execution Conditions
- Opponent shows weakness on both flop and turn (e.g., consecutive checks).
- The river is a blank (does not complete any obvious draw).
- Opponent's range contains many hands that missed the flop but have some showdown value (e.g., A-high).
Notes
This strategy is effective against tight-passive opponents but carries higher risk against loose-aggressive players or frequent calling stations. The player's own image should also be tight to increase bluff credibility.
