枪口位+1自愿入池率(UTG+1 VPIP)
UTG+1 VPIP
Refers to the statistical indicator of the frequency at which a player voluntarily puts money into the pot from the UTG+1 position.
Meaning
UTG+1 VPIP is a poker statistic used to evaluate a player's tendency to play hands from a specific position (Under the Gun +1). VPIP (Voluntarily Put Money In Pot) measures how often a player voluntarily puts money into the pot, including calls, raises, all-ins, etc., but not including forced blind payments. UTG+1 is an early position, immediately to the right of the Under the Gun (UTG) position, typically the third to act at a nine-handed table.
Interpretation
- Low VPIP (e.g., 8-12%): Indicates the player is very tight in this position, only playing strong hands. This is a common strategy for early positions, as positional disadvantage requires stronger hands.
- Medium VPIP (e.g., 13-20%): The player may include some speculative hands like small/medium pairs or suited connectors, but overall remains cautious.
- High VPIP (above 20%): Suggests the player plays many hands even from early position, which may be exploitable due to the positional disadvantage and high pre-flop entry rate.
Application
By observing an opponent's UTG+1 VPIP, you can infer their starting hand range. For instance, a player with a UTG+1 VPIP of 10% typically only holds top-tier hands like AA, KK, QQ, AK, etc. A player with a 20% VPIP might include all pairs, Ace-high suited hands, some connectors, and so on.
Notes
VPIP is just one metric; it should be combined with other frequencies (e.g., PFR, AF) and sample size for a comprehensive assessment. When the sample size is small (e.g., fewer than 100 hands), the data's reliability is limited. Baseline VPIP values also differ by game type (full-ring vs. short-handed).
