枪口位置攻击频率(UTG AFq)

UTG AFq

Attack frequency of the Under the Gun UTG player, i.e., the ratio of the number of times the player in that position voluntarily bets or raises to the total number of actions.

What is UTG AFq?

UTG AFq is a poker statistic that measures a player's aggression frequency from the Under the Gun position (the first position to the left of the big blind). AFq stands for Aggression Frequency, reflecting a player's tendency to bet or raise from a specific position.

Calculation Method

The formula for UTG AFq is:

  • (Number of Bets + Number of Raises) / (Number of Bets + Number of Raises + Number of Checks + Number of Calls)

This statistic typically applies to postflop actions, but sometimes also to preflop actions. The value ranges from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%), with higher values indicating a more aggressive player.

Interpretation and Application

  • High UTG AFq (e.g., > 0.6): The player frequently bets or raises from UTG, which may indicate a wide range or a tendency to apply pressure, but it can also expose weaknesses.
  • Low UTG AFq (e.g., < 0.3): The player tends to check or call, possibly slow-playing strong hands or passively holding weak hands, making them exploitable.
  • Medium UTG AFq (approximately 0.4–0.6): Relatively balanced, usually corresponding to a reasonable aggressive range.

Notes

  • UTG AFq should be analyzed with sample size; statistics from a small number of hands (e.g., < 100) have low significance.
  • This metric should be used in conjunction with VPIP (Voluntarily Put Money In Pot) and PFR (Preflop Raise) to assess a player's overall strategy.
  • Different stake levels and game types (cash games vs. tournaments) may affect the standard range.

Typical Example

Suppose a player acts 100 times postflop from UTG, with 30 bets, 10 raises, 40 checks, and 20 calls. Then UTG AFq = (30+10)/(30+10+40+20) = 40/100 = 0.4 (40%).
