枪口位河牌彩虹面挤压(UTG River Squeeze Rainbow)

Refers to a squeeze re-raise strategy after a pre-flop raise from UTG under the gun, when the river card creates a rainbow board no flush possible, facing raises or bets from multiple opponents.

Term Breakdown

  • UTG (Under the Gun): The earliest position to act preflop, typically representing a strong range.
  • River: The fifth community card, the final betting round.
  • Squeeze: Usually refers to a re-raise preflop or on the flop against multiple opponents, profiting from fold equity.
  • Rainbow: A board where all four cards are of different suits, eliminating the possibility of a flush draw.

Strategic Meaning

This term describes a composite scenario: A player opens from UTG, and after the flop and turn, the river is dealt and the board is rainbow (no flush threat). If there are multiple opponents and one of them bets or raises, the UTG player chooses to make a large re-raise (squeeze), aiming to represent a strong hand (e.g., nut straight, set, etc.) and force opponents to fold medium-strength hands.

Notes

  • This strategy is used extremely rarely in actual play because success requires multiple conditions: the UTG range is relatively exposed, the rainbow river reduces the possibility of a bluff with a flush draw, and opponents must have sufficient fold tendencies.
  • As an advanced play, it is generally only used to balance ranges or against specific opponents.
  • In normal situations, squeezing on the river against multiple opponents carries high risk, as opponents may have already made strong hands.
