His journey began in Vancouver, then moved to Calgary, and eventually to the Yukon, which earned him the nickname "Yukon Brad." The nickname stuck as he became a recognizable figure in the poker world.

Booth first gained widespread attention through his appearances on the GSN series High Stakes Poker. In the 13th episode of the third season, he famously bought in for a "cool million," showcasing his willingness to play at the highest levels. In 2012, Booth publicly admitted that he had failed to repay $28,000 loaned to him by fellow poker player Doug Polk, as well as various amounts from other professional players. This admission was a rare moment of public accountability and highlighted the financial difficulties he had encountered.

On July 13, 2020, Booth was reported missing after telling his roommate he was going camping. His roommate noted that Booth had only taken supplies "for a day or two," raising concerns. A search effort was organized, including a Facebook page titled "Let's find Brad Booth." On September 16, 2020, his family posted a message confirming that Booth was alive and well, stating that he had "been taking some time to himself." They added that they did not have further information at that time.

In a 2025 interview, Booth reflected on the incident, saying, "Sometimes in life you just have to take a timeout" and "I had a whole lot of time in the woods to re-evaluate my past behaviors, and a lot of them derived from a sickness." His comments suggested a period of personal reflection and a desire to address underlying issues.
