Yang Wang first appeared on the international poker scene in the late 2010s, cashing in events at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and European Poker Tour (EPT). In 2017, he finished 73rd in the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event at the WSOP for $5,562 and placed 42nd in the online poker LIVE Grand Prix Austria Main Event for €1,350. He also recorded a 14th-place finish in the HK$103,000 High Roller at PokerStars Championship Macau for HK$262,000. The following year, he took second place in the Oriental Poker Championship HK$100,000 High Roller for HK$921,000, and third in the Poker King Cup Macau Main Event for HK$660,200. Wang’s career reached new heights in 2026 when he won his first WSOP bracelet in Event #5: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed) at the WSOP in Las Vegas. He defeated a field of 716 players to take home $595,388, outlasting Jesse Lonis in heads-up play. This victory capped a series of near-misses at previous WSOP events, including a fourth-place finish in the $25,000 High Roller PLO in 2024 ($731,819) and a runner-up in the $50,000 PLO Championship at WSOP Paradise in 2024 ($1,006,680).

Yang Wang is widely regarded as a Pot-Limit Omaha specialist, though he has also proven himself in No-Limit Hold'em events.
