10bb 3-Bet全下(10bb 3-Bet Jam)

10bb 3-Bet Jam

When the stack depth is approximately 10 big blinds, facing an opponent's raise, the player directly makes a 3-bet shove pre-flop.

Overview

The 10bb 3-Bet Jam is a preflop aggressive strategy for short stacks (around 10 big blinds). When a player has about 10bb and is in position or in the blinds, facing an Open Raise, they move all-in instead of making a standard 3-bet (usually 2.5-3 times the raise).

Strategic Principles

  • Maximize Fold Equity: The short stack shove puts immense pressure on opponents, forcing them to fold marginal hands, especially when late-position players may be opening with a wide range.
  • Simplify Decisions: With a short stack, post-flop maneuvering is limited; jamming directly avoids complex post-flop situations.
  • Pot Odds Advantage: If an opponent calls, the player is often ahead or has favorable pot odds, as short-stack pot odds are easier to calculate.

Applicable Scenarios

  • Opponent is an aggressive raiser and late-position players have a high fold rate.
  • Player holds strong hands (e.g., TT+, AJ+) or medium suited connectors (e.g., 87s), but must consider opponent ranges.
  • Typically used in late tournament stages or short-stacked cash games.

Caveats

  • If opponents are too tight, frequent jamming may be exploited.
  • Adjust based on opponent: against loose players, widen the range; against tight players, strictly select strong hands.
  • Position matters: jamming is more effective from the small blind or big blind against blind-stealing raises.

Example

Suppose a player holds A♠K♠ with a 10bb stack in the small blind. The button (covers) opens to 3bb. The player jams all-in for 10bb. If the button holds a medium pair (e.g., 99) or a weak Ace, they may fold; if they call, AK has roughly 50% equity.
