BTN 10bb偷盲(BTN 10bb Steal)
BTN 10bb Steal
When holding about 10 big blinds bb in the button BTN position, an aggressive blind stealing strategy by raising to try to win the blinds directly.
Concept
BTN 10bb Steal is a stealing strategy executed by a short stack (about 10bb) player on the button in tournaments or cash games. Due to the shallow stack depth, it typically uses a shove or near-shove raise size to maximize fold equity and avoid complex postflop decisions.
Applicability
- Usually occurs in the late stages of a tournament or short stack phase, when blinds increase and stack size (in BB) drops to around 10bb.
- The button is the most advantageous position for stealing because of positional advantage postflop and only the blinds need to act.
Strategy Points
- Raise Size: Generally shove directly to avoid awkward situations of being raised after a small raise; in rare cases, raise 2.2-2.5bb but with caution.
- Stealing Range: Typical range includes about 40-60% of starting hands, including all Aces, Kings, high cards, pairs, suited connectors, etc., adjusted based on opponent's folding tendencies.
- Opponent Types: Against tight-passive blinds (high fold rate), widen the range; against loose-aggressive or calling stations, tighten the range.
Notes
- ICM Pressure: Near the money bubble or final table, stealing must consider ICM factors to avoid elimination by clashing with deep stacks.
- Adjustment: If blinds often call, reduce stealing frequency and raise with stronger value hands.
- Postflop Survival: If called, postflop usually requires shoving any flop, so the hand's nut potential and blocker effects are important.
Example
Late tournament, blinds 500/1000, ante 100. Player on BTN with 8,000 chips (8bb), holding A9o. Folds to BTN, BTN shoves 8,000. This is a typical 8bb steal, using the strength of A9o and fold equity to take the pot.
