按钮位摊牌率(BTN WTSD)
BTN WTSD
The ratio of a player in button position who sees the flop and eventually reaches showdown Showdown.
Overview
BTN WTSD (Button Went to Showdown) is a poker statistic used to evaluate a player's tendency on the button. It measures the percentage of times a player who saw the flop from the button ultimately goes to showdown on the river. Usually expressed as a percentage, it is calculated as: Button showdowns / Button hands that saw the flop.
Applications
- Assessing Player Aggression: A high BTN WTSD (e.g., above 35%) typically suggests a more passive player on the button who tends to showdown rather than bet aggressively or fold. A low value (e.g., below 25%) may indicate a player who gives up more often in unfavorable spots or frequently forces folds through bets.
- Leveraging Position Advantage: The button offers postflop positional advantage, so a reasonable BTN WTSD should account for opponents and pot dynamics. Strong players use their position to steal pots at opportune times or build the pot with strong hands, avoiding excessive showdowns that might reveal their hand strength.
- Strategy Adjustment: Knowing an opponent's BTN WTSD aids decision-making. Against a high BTN WTSD opponent, you can bluff more often since they are less likely to fold; against a low BTN WTSD opponent, you may win more pots with continuation bets.
Typical Ranges
Generally, a tight-aggressive player may have a BTN WTSD around 28%-32%; a loose-aggressive player might be slightly lower (due to more frequent blind steals followed by folds); passive players may exceed 35%. Note that this statistic is influenced by hand range, postflop style, and opponent skill, so it should be interpreted alongside other stats like VPIP, PFR, and AF.
Limitations
BTN WTSD only reflects the proportion of hands reaching showdown, not the strength of the hand shown down, nor the specific actions taken postflop (e.g., whether the hand was a blind defense). Additionally, the metric is unreliable with small sample sizes (a minimum of 100 button hands is recommended).
