关煞位100大盲注防守(CO 100bb Defense)

CO 100bb Defense

In a standard poker game, when a player is in the cutoff position with an effective stack of 100 big blinds, the defensive strategy employed against an early position raise.

Overview

CO 100bb Defense refers to the strategy of calling or re-raising as a defense when a player is in the cutoff position (one seat to the right of the button, approximately UTG+2) in a no-limit Texas Hold'em cash game with an effective stack depth of 100 big blinds, facing a raise from an early position player (e.g., UTG or UTG+1). The core of this strategy is to balance value and bluffs while leveraging positional advantage and stack depth.

Key Strategy Points

  • Range Construction: The defending range typically includes strong pairs (e.g., QQ+), high cards (e.g., AK, AQ), and some suited connectors (e.g., T9s, 87s). The exact range should be adjusted based on the opponent’s raising range.
  • Positional Advantage: As the cutoff, the player has a favorable postflop position and can therefore widen their defending range slightly, using position to apply pressure after the flop.
  • Stack Depth: 100bb is a standard depth in cash games, allowing players to use various bet sizes postflop while retaining enough room for bluffs.
  • Adjustment Factors: Opponent’s style, early position raising frequency, and table dynamics all influence the defending range. For example, against a tight-aggressive opponent, it is better to favor re-raising with strong hands.

Notes

  • Avoid over-defending: When facing an early position raise, the defending range should not be too wide, otherwise it can be exploited by the opponent.
  • Consider re-raising: Some players choose to re-raise (3-bet) with medium-strong hands (e.g., TT, AJ) to isolate the opponent or take the initiative.
  • Example: Suppose the opponent raises to 3bb from UTG and you hold 99 in the cutoff. At a typical 100bb depth, 99 can be called, but a re-raise may also be viable depending on the opponent’s fold equity.
