关煞位150大盲防守(CO 150bb Defense)
CO 150bb Defense
In effective stack depth of 150 big blinds, the cutoff player's calling or re-raising strategy facing an early or middle position raise.
Concept
CO 150bb Defense describes, in poker cash games or tournaments, when a player is in the cutoff position (Cutoff, abbreviated as CO, i.e., the first position to the right of the dealer) with an effective stack depth of approximately 150 big blinds (bb), the defensive range and actions chosen when facing a raise from an earlier position (e.g., under the gun, middle position). This stack depth is considered deep, so the defensive strategy must balance value and protection, avoiding excessive folding or being exploited.
Strategy Points
- Calling Range: Typically includes some medium pairs (e.g., 77-TT), suited connectors (e.g., JTs, T9s), Axs (e.g., A5s), and some high cards (AQo, AKo may consider 3betting). The call aims to utilize positional advantage in post-flop play while avoiding being trapped by opponents due to deep stacks.
- Re-raise (3bet) Range: Tends to be linear or polarized. The linear range includes strong hands (QQ+, AKs) and some medium-strength suited connectors for balance; the polarized range uses strong hands mixed with a few bluffs (e.g., A2s, K9s). Due to the deep stack, the 3bet size is typically larger (about 3-4 times the raise) to increase the opponent's calling cost and control the pot.
- Folding: Against a large raise from a tight-aggressive player, should fold weaker marginal hands (e.g., KQo, ATo) to avoid big pot mistakes with deep stacks.
Typical Example (Teaching Purposes)
Assume effective stacks of 150bb, UTG raises to 3bb, CO holds 98s. Can consider calling to utilize position and post-flop potential; if holding KK, 3bet to around 12bb.
Notes
At 150bb depth, implied odds post-flop are high, but pre-flop decision errors are amplified as the pot grows. Adjust based on opponent tendencies: increase calling frequency against aggressive opponents, and use more 3bets to deny equity against conservative opponents.
