关煞位15bb偷盲(CO 15bb Steal)

CO 15bb Steal

Refers to an aggressive play where the cutoff CO player raises to try to win the blinds directly when the effective stack depth is about 15 big blinds.

Concept

Stealing blinds (Steal) is a common aggressive strategy in Texas Hold'em where players in late position (e.g., CO, Button) use positional advantage and the likelihood of opponents folding to raise aggressively, aiming to take down the blinds without seeing a flop. CO 15bb Steal specifically refers to a blind-stealing action from the cutoff position with a stack depth of approximately 15 big blinds.

Impact of Stack Depth

  • 15bb is a short stack stage, where preflop decisions are critical. Since the stack is insufficient for complex postflop play, players prefer to apply pressure with preflop all-ins or larger raises.
  • At 15bb, the standard steal raise size is typically 2-2.5bb. A larger raise (e.g., shove) reveals hand range, while a smaller raise (e.g., min-raise) offers the blinds favorable pot odds.

Characteristics of the CO Position

The CO position is directly before the button and offers one of the last actions (except the button). When blind players (especially the big blind) have a high fold-to-steal rate, CO steals are more successful. CO stealing requires evaluating:

  • The Button player's 3-bet tendency (frequent 3-bets from the button increase the risk of a CO steal).
  • The blind's defending range (whether the big blind calls or 3-bets with a wide range).

Strategy Example at 15bb

  • Raise Size: Typically raise to 2-2.2bb. If the blinds defend tightly, you can slightly reduce the raise amount; if they tend to fight back, raise to 2.5bb or shove directly.
  • Hand Selection: The stealing range should include all pairs, weak suited aces, suited connectors, and other playable hands. However, at 15bb, prioritize hands that can withstand a 3-bet shove (e.g., medium pairs, Ax, KQ).
  • Facing a 3-bet: If 3-bet, decide whether to shove or fold based on opponent's range and stack size. Generally, at 15bb many players respond to a 3-bet by shoving.

Risks and Adjustments

  • A failed steal reduces your stack to 12-13bb, leaving less room for future plays. Choose correct timing and opponents.
  • If the blinds frequently defend or 3-bet, reduce stealing frequency and wait for stronger hands.
  • In late tournament stages (e.g., under ICM pressure), reassess the risk-reward ratio of CO 15bb Steals, as blinds may defend more aggressively near the money bubble.
