CO位40BB全下或弃牌(CO 40bb Push Fold)

CO 40bb Push Fold

在筹码深度约40个大盲注时,位于CO位置的玩家采用只进行全下或弃牌的非标准策略。

Overview

CO 40bb Push Fold is a simplified strategy for a specific stack depth, commonly used in late tournament stages or cash games against short stacks. This strategy reduces a player's actions to two choices: either go all-in (Push) or fold (Fold), eliminating standard raises or calls.

Strategy Principles

  • Stack Depth Specificity: 40 big blinds is a medium stack, typically suitable for standard raises and postflop play. However, in certain scenarios (e.g., when opponents have very tight ranges or to cope with ICM pressure), using an all-in or fold strategy can simplify decisions and reduce errors.
  • CO Position Advantage: The CO position (immediately before the BTN) offers informational advantages (BTN and blinds have yet to act). Shoving puts immense pressure, forcing opponents to fold many marginal hands.
  • Fold Range: Weak hands and easily dominated hands (e.g., A7o, KTo) are folded directly to avoid complex postflop play.
  • Push Range: Typically includes strong hands (AA, KK, QQ, AK, etc.), along with some medium-to-large pocket pairs, suited connectors, etc., adjusted based on opponents.

Applicable Scenarios

  • Late tournament stages with high blinds, where opponents fold frequently.
  • When opponents underestimate the shoving range or when the player has a tight-passive image.
  • Effective against players who like to call raises but fear all-ins.

Considerations

  • This strategy forfeits the value of standard raises, such as small preflop raises that can lure opponents into more mistakes.
  • Against experienced opponents over the long term, it can be exploitable (opponents may call with a wider range).
  • Should not be rigidly templated; dynamic adjustments to the shoving range based on opponent tendencies are necessary.

Example (For Educational Purposes)

Assume the CO position has 40BB effective stacks, and the player holds AJo. Under the Push Fold strategy, AJo typically falls into the push range due to its good blocking effects and showdown value. However, if the BTN opponent calls shoves at an extremely high frequency, folding may become preferable.
