HJ位15bb反偷盲(HJ 15bb Resteal)

HJ 15bb Resteal

When effective stacks are around 15 big blinds, the hijack player's re-steal raising strategy against an early position blind stealer.

Overview

HJ 15bb Resteal is a typical scenario in Texas Hold'em short-stack strategy. It refers to when you are in the Hijack (HJ) position with an effective stack size of about 15 big blinds (bb), and you re-raise (Resteal) against a steal attempt from an earlier position (usually CO or BTN). The core of this strategy is to leverage your stack advantage and position to attack the opponent's wider steal range and win the pot uncontested.

Position and Stack Depth

  • Position: The Hijack (HJ) is the seat after UTG+1 and before the CO in a nine-handed table. In this scenario, HJ is typically in a middle-to-late position, allowing you to observe actions from earlier positions while still having the CO and BTN yet to act behind you.
  • Stack Depth: 15bb is a typical short-stack range, where shoving or raising to all-in is the mainstream choice. With 15bb, opponents face significant risk when calling or re-raising, especially if they are also short-stacked.

Strategy Key Points

  • Opponent Range Assumption: The early position stealer's opening range is usually wide, including weak aces, suited connectors, etc. Your resteal should target this range, choosing hands with good blockers, such as A2o-A5o (blocking AA/AK), KXo, small pairs, etc.
  • Raise Method: Typically, go all-in for 15bb directly to avoid reducing fold equity post-raise. Shoving forces opponents to fold medium-strength hands (e.g., KJo, QTo), while if called, you still have about 30%-40% equity against the opponent's calling range.
  • Frequency Balance: Do not overuse this move, or opponents will adjust. It is recommended to resteal with about 15%-20% of hands when facing a CO or BTN steal from HJ, while mixing in some value shoves (e.g., TT+, AJ+).

Precautions

  • Opponent Type: More effective against aggressive players who steal frequently; reduce resteal frequency against calling stations.
  • Players Behind: If there are large stacks behind (e.g., BTN or BB deep stacks), the risk of restealing increases, as they may call or re-raise with a wider range.
  • ICM Pressure: In tournaments, near the money bubble or final table, consider ICM to avoid elimination from restealing.

Typical Example

Assume effective stacks are 15bb. The CO opens to 2.5bb. You are in HJ with A♠5♦. If the fold equity is high enough, a direct shove of 15bb is a reasonable resteal. If the CO calls, your A5s has about 35% equity against their calling range (e.g., TT-22, A9o+, KQo, etc.), and pot odds justify this decision.
