劫持位25bb偷盲(HJ 25bb Steal)

HJ 25bb Steal

When holding about 25 big blinds bb in the hijack position HJ, the act of raising to try to win the blinds and antes directly.

Position and Stack Background

HJ (Hijack) is the next position after UTG (UTG), located in a middle-late position. 25 big blinds (bb) is considered a medium-short stack, common in Texas Hold'em tournaments. At this stack depth, Steal Blinds (Steal) becomes an important profit-making method because directly winning the blinds and antes can significantly increase your stack.

Betting Sizing and Strategy

  • Typical raise size is 2.2-2.5bb to control risk and force the blinds to fold. Raising too large (e.g., 3bb+) increases risk, while too small (2bb) may give opponents favorable calling odds.
  • The success rate of stealing blinds depends on the blinds' defending ranges: if the blinds are tight-passive, raises can succeed frequently; if opponents are loose-aggressive or often 3bet, adjustments are needed, such as increasing 4bet or fold frequency.

Subsequent Play

  • After being called, on the flop you need to continue acting based on the board texture and opponent's range. With a medium-short stack, you can shove all-in or use a continuation bet (c-bet) to apply pressure.
  • If facing a 3bet, decide whether to 4bet all-in or fold based on opponent's range. At 25bb stack depth, shoving all-in is a reasonable choice because one hand can double you up or bust you.

Notes

  • The success rate of stealing blinds depends not only on your own range but also on table dynamics. In aggressive tournaments, you may need to widen your stealing range (e.g., including weaker suited connectors).
  • Avoid over-stealing to be exploited by opponents; maintaining a balanced range improves long-term profitability.
