Scenario Analysis

  • No one in the pot: From under the gun to the small blind all fold, the big blind automatically wins the pot without acting, so this is not counted.
  • Small blind folds: The big blind wins the pot outright (blinds only), also not counted.
  • Someone limps: Common scenario where a front or middle position limps, or the small blind may also limp. The big blind can then check (see a free flop) or raise (isolate the limper, defend the blind).
  • Small blind limps: The big blind similarly has the option to raise or check.
