劫持位反偷盲策略(Hijack Anti-Steal Strategy)

Hijack Anti-Steal Strategy

Refers to a counter-strategy in no-limit Texas Hold'em where the hijack player counteracts the blind-stealing behavior of the button or cutoff player, including adjustments for raising, calling, and folding.

Overview

Hijack is the position immediately to the right of the button, usually in late position but not the last to act. When the button or cutoff players frequently steal blinds (i.e., raise with a wide range), Hijack players need to adjust their strategy to protect the blinds and increase expected value. The core of the Hijack's re-steal strategy lies in judging the opponent's steal frequency, range, and one's own hand strength and stack depth.

Basic Strategy

  • Raise re-steal (Re-steal): When the opponent's stealing range is wide, the Hijack can use strong hands (such as 99+, AQ+) or some medium hands (such as A8s, KTs) to 3-bet, forcing the opponent to fold or be in a disadvantageous situation.
  • Call to defend: For medium-strength hands (such as suited connectors, small pairs), call to control the pot and use positional advantage to compete post-flop.
  • Fold: Against tight-aggressive opponents or deep stacks, weak hands (like junk) should be folded directly to avoid marginal situations.

Key Factors

  • Opponent tendency: Observe the steal frequency of the button/cutoff. If it is above 30%, the value of re-stealing increases.
  • Stack depth: When short-stacked, tighten the re-steal range; when deep-stacked, add more speculative hands.
  • Own image: If the player's image is tight, the re-steal success rate may be higher; otherwise, be cautious.

Notes

Hijack re-steal is not an isolated strategy; it needs to be combined with the overall game plan. Avoid over-re-stealing which may lead to being trapped by opponents, and also pay attention to the range of the blinds players. It is recommended to adjust dynamically in practice, especially under the influence of ICM in the later stages of tournaments.
