中位50大盲注深度反偷(MP 50bb Resteal)

MP 50bb Resteal

Pre-flop, a middle position player with a stack depth of about 50 big blinds re-raises 3-bets against a suspected blind-stealing raise to take down the pot.

Overview

"MP 50bb Resteal" refers to a strategy in No-Limit Texas Hold'em where a player in Middle Position (MP) re-raises (3-bet) an open raise (often suspected as a steal attempt) from an early or early-middle position player, given an effective stack depth of approximately 50 Big Blinds (bb). This term is commonly used in cash games or tournaments, emphasizing a resteal operation under specific positional and stack depth conditions.

Application Scenarios

  • Position Advantage: Since several players are yet to act after Middle Position (CO, BTN, blinds), a resteal is most effective when there is a high fold equity from late-position players and the blinds.
  • Stack Depth: 50bb is a medium depth, suitable for a 3-bet with fold equity. With deeper stacks (e.g., 200bb), opponents are more likely to call and defend; with shallower stacks (e.g., 20bb), a shove is often required.
  • Opponent Tendencies: The resteal from MP is more efficient against opponents who have a high steal frequency (e.g., players who frequently open-raise from CO or BTN).

Strategic Considerations

  • Range Selection: Typically use medium-strength hands for the resteal, such as medium pocket pairs (77-JJ), suited connectors (e.g., A5s, KQs), or blocker hands (e.g., ATo). Avoid very weak hands, as they can be dominated against a tight range.
  • Bet Sizing: Standard 3-bet size is about 3 to 4 times the original raise. At 50bb depth, a 3-bet to roughly 9-12bb is recommended to force the stealer to fold some marginal hands while retaining a remaining stack (about 38-41bb) for possible bluffing or value betting post-flop.
  • Frequency Adjustment: Do not overuse the resteal, otherwise regular opponents may adjust by calling or 4-betting more often. A general recommendation is to resteal in about 15%-25% of situations where a steal raise occurs.

Notes

  • Late-Position Actions: After a resteal from MP, late-position players (CO, BTN, blinds) still have opportunities to act. If they call or re-raise, the restealer must adjust subsequent strategy based on pot odds and opponent ranges.
  • Blind Defense: The small and big blinds may cold-call or re-raise, especially against short stacks. Consider whether the blind players are active before restealing.
  • Example: At a 9-handed table with effective stacks of 50bb, MP opens to 2.5bb. You are in MP with 88 and believe the opener has a high steal frequency. You can 3-bet to 9bb. If the opponent folds, you win the pot; if called, proceed based on the flop.
