MP AF

MP AF

Term: Middle Position Attack Factor MP AF The attack factor of a middle position player, reflecting the frequency of their active betting or raising after the flop.

Overview

MP AF is a composite statistical indicator in poker data analysis, combining the position identifier "MP" (Middle Position) and the aggression statistic "AF" (Aggression Factor). The AF formula is (Bets + Raises) / Calls, typically used post-flop (Flop, Turn, River) to measure a player's aggressive tendencies. MP AF specifically refers to this value when the player is in middle position, helping opponents assess their aggression level in that particular position.

Application Scenarios

In online poker, players often use HUD (Heads-Up Display) or data tracking software to view an opponent's MP AF. Generally, a high AF value (e.g., > 3) indicates the player is more inclined to take aggressive post-flop actions, possibly holding a strong hand or frequently bluffing; a low AF value (e.g., < 1) suggests a more passive, calling-oriented style, usually only applying pressure when they have a made hand. The specific value should be interpreted in conjunction with pre-flop VPIP, positional tendencies, and other factors.

Notes

  • MP AF only reflects post-flop actions and does not include pre-flop raise data.
  • When the sample size is too small (e.g., fewer than 20 hands), the AF value may be distorted and should be interpreted with caution.
  • The reference value of AF may vary depending on game type (cash vs. tournament) or table dynamics.
  • It is recommended to use MP AF together with metrics such as VPIP (Voluntarily Put Money In Pot) and PFR (Pre-flop Raise) to obtain a more comprehensive opponent profile.
