15个大盲注防守(15bb Defense)
15bb Defense
In Texas Hold'em, it refers to the defensive strategy of calling or re-raising in response to an opponent's raise when the player's stack depth is approximately 15 big blinds.
Overview
15bb Defense is a common concept in short-stack strategy, typically occurring in the late stages of tournaments or cash games. When a player's stack drops to around 15 big blinds (bb), preflop decision space becomes significantly compressed, and defensive strategies need to be optimized based on pot odds, opponent ranges, and ICM pressure.
Core Principles
- Tighten range: The shorter the stack, the fewer playable hands. At 15bb, usually only defend with strong hands (e.g., pairs, high cards), avoiding calls with marginal hands.
- Shove or fold: In many cases, calling leads to difficult postflop decisions, so the tendency is to shove or fold directly. Shoving can generate fold equity to compensate for weaker hand strength.
- Position matters: In position, you can slightly widen your defending range because you have more information postflop; out of position, you need to be tighter.
Typical Scenario (Example)
Assume blinds are 100/200, your stack is 3000 (15bb), UTG raises to 2.5bb (500). Your defensive options:
- Fold: Give up on weak or medium hands.
- Call: Call with some strong hands (e.g., medium pairs, suited connectors), but note postflop SPR is about 2.5, which can lead to awkward spots.
- Shove: Shove with top pair, strong Ace-high, etc., forcing opponents to fold weaker raising ranges.
Notes
- Sensitive to raise size: If the opponent raises small (e.g., 2bb), you can call more often; if the raise is larger, shove or fold is better.
- ICM considerations: Near the money bubble or final table, be more conservative and avoid risky plays during the bubble.
