30bb 3-Bet 全下(30bb 3-Bet Jam)

30bb 3-Bet Jam

When the effective stack is around 30 big blinds, players employ an aggressive strategy of 3-bet jamming preflop.

Overview

The 30bb 3-Bet Jam is a common preflop aggressive strategy in Texas Hold'em, suitable for shallow stack depths (around 30 big blinds, i.e., 30bb). The core of the strategy is: when a player decides to 3-bet (re-raise an opponent's raise), they choose to go all-in (Jam) instead of making a traditional small 3-bet.

Strategy Principles

With an effective stack of 30bb, a standard small 3-bet (e.g., raising to 9-12bb) creates high pot odds, and the remaining stack (~20bb) often complicates postflop decisions. Going all-in directly avoids disadvantageous postflop situations while applying maximum pressure on opponents, forcing them to fold medium-strength hands. This strategy is especially effective against frequent blind stealers or when the player holds medium-strong hands (such as A-high, pairs, suited connectors), leveraging fold equity for direct profit.

Application Scenarios

  • The player is in a favorable position (e.g., button or cutoff) and an opponent in the small blind or big blind makes a steal raise.
  • The opponent's raising range is wide, and the player wants to squeeze that range with an all-in.
  • When the player holds a strong hand (such as TT+, AQ+), jamming maximizes value and avoids postflop mistakes.

Notes

  • Should not be used too frequently, otherwise opponents will call or re-raise with strong hands.
  • In late tournament stages or under ICM pressure, carefully consider the risks of jamming.
  • Works best against tight-passive opponents; against calling stations who never fold, it may lose value.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: Simplifies decisions, highly aggressive, reduces postflop errors.
  • Cons: When opponents hold strong hands, it can lead to elimination, and it cannot extract more value postflop.
