30bb推弃策略(30bb Push Fold)
When the effective stack depth is around 30 big blinds, a simplified strategy consisting of only two actions: Push or Fold.
Overview
30bb Push Fold is a common strategy in Texas Hold'em tournaments, applicable when the effective stack depth is around 30 big blinds (bb). This strategy simplifies decisions to two options: either go all-in (Push) or fold (Fold), avoiding intermediate actions (such as small raises or calls), thus reducing the difficulty of complex post-flop decisions.
Principle
When the stack depth is shallow (around 30bb), the pre-flop pot already constitutes a significant portion, leaving limited room for post-flop decisions. Going all-in maximizes fold equity, forcing opponents to fold marginal hands, while giving you a direct chance to win the pot. The core basis for adopting the Push Fold strategy is pot odds and range balancing: the player needs to select a push range (typically including strong hands and some bluffs) and a fold range for weak hands, based on the opponent's calling range. For example, on the button facing the small blind, you might push with around 40%–50% of hands, depending on the opponent's tendencies.
Applicable Scenarios
- Late tournament stages with high blind levels.
- After a single raise, the effective stack drops to around 30bb.
- The opponent's calling range is predictable or has clear weaknesses.
Pros and Cons
- Pros: Simplifies decisions, reduces post-flop technical errors; effectively exploits loose-passive players.
- Cons: Vulnerable to being caught bluffing; if pushing frequency is too high, opponents can adjust their calling range; not suitable for deep stacks or against strong opponents.
Notes
In practice, 30bb is not an absolute threshold; it can be adjusted to 25–35bb based on opponent style and blind sizes. Additionally, ICM (Independent Chip Model) influences decisions, especially near the money bubble or final table.
