CO位10BB筹码深度ICM情境(CO 10bb ICM Spot)

CO 10bb ICM Spot

Refers to a critical spot in the late stages of a Texas Hold'em tournament, when the stack depth is around 10 big blinds and you are in the CO cutoff position, requiring ICM-based decision-making.

Basic Concepts

CO (Cut Off) is the second position clockwise from the button in Texas Hold'em, located after HJ (Hijack) and before BU (Button). In the late stages of a tournament, when the stack depth is approximately 10 big blinds (BB), players are usually short-stacked and need to frequently consider all-in or fold. ICM (Independent Chip Model) is used to convert chip counts into expected prize money. In this scenario, decisions depend not only on hand strength and pot odds but also on the potential benefit of surviving to advance to higher prize tiers.

Strategy Points

  • All-in Range: In the CO seat, since there are still three players (BU, SB, BB) yet to act behind you, the all-in range is usually tighter than in the small blind. A typical range is about 22+, A2s+, K9s+, QTs+, JTs, A9o+, KJo+, etc., but should be adjusted based on opponents' calling tendencies and ICM pressure.
  • Calling All-ins: When facing an all-in from a player who acted before you, the calling range needs to be tighter, typically requiring strong hands like TT+, AQ+, because losing would lead to quick elimination and severe ICM penalty.
  • ICM Factors: If close to the money bubble or final table, survival value is higher, so the all-in range should be moderately tightened; if far from the money, it can be slightly loosened. Additionally, consider the big blind's defense frequency and the small blind's squeeze tendency.

Example

In a 9-handed SNG, blinds 500/1000, ante 100, you are in CO with 10,000 chips, everyone folds to you. According to ICM, if the BB player has a tight calling range (about 10%), you can shove about 25% of hands; if the BB defends frequently, you should tighten to about 15%.

Common Mistakes

  • Ignoring ICM and making decisions based only on pot odds may lead to being too aggressive near the money bubble and getting eliminated.
  • Thinking that a 10BB stack is an "auto-shove" depth, whereas in reality you still need to adjust based on position and opponents.
