中间位置翻牌前3-Bet底池(MP Preflop 3-Bet Pot)

MP Preflop 3-Bet Pot

Refers to the pot formed after a player in middle position MP makes a 3-bet preflop in No-Limit Texas Hold'em.

Position and Scenario

MP (Middle Position) typically refers to UTG+1 (immediately after the under the gun position) in 6-handed games or the 3rd-4th position in 9-handed games. Pre-flop 3-Bet refers to when someone raises (2-Bet) and another player re-raises. When a MP player makes a 3-Bet, it means they are facing a raise from an earlier position (e.g., UTG) and choose to re-raise with a strong hand or a mixed range.

Pot Characteristics

  • Pot Size: Due to the pre-flop raise and re-raise, the pot is usually larger, setting the foundation for subsequent bets.
  • Range Definition: MP's 3-Bet Range typically includes value hands (e.g., AA, KK, QQ, AK) and some bluffs (e.g., A5s, KQs), depending on the opponent and strategy.
  • Position Disadvantage: MP is in a disadvantageous position post-flop because later players (e.g., CO, BTN) may have wider ranges and they have positional advantage.

Strategy Considerations

  • Post-flop Play: Due to the large pot and positional disadvantage, MP players should tend towards continuation betting or check-raising post-flop to protect strong hands and limit opponents' bluffs.
  • Against 4-Bet: MP's 3-Bet faces the risk of being 4-Bet, so the range should be adjusted based on opponent tendencies to avoid too many bluffs that cannot withstand a 4-bet.
  • Example: Assume a 6-handed table, UTG raises to 3BB, MP with AA makes a 3-bet to 9BB, the pot is now about 13.5BB (including blinds). Post-flop, MP must act cautiously because later players may call or 4-bet.
