中间位河牌彩虹面反偷盲(MP River Resteal Rainbow)

On the river, a player in middle position re-raises facing an opponent's bet on a rainbow board with the intention of forcing a fold.

Position and Background

Middle Position (MP) refers to the position after UTG and before CO in a six-handed table, typically holding a medium range advantage post-flop. "Resteal" refers to a re-raise against a steal attempt, which usually occurs pre-flop, but here it is used on the river, meaning raising an opponent's bet on the river as a bluff. "Rainbow" indicates that the three flop cards are all of different suits, which usually means flush draws are not present, so the river board changes draw structures less, but straights or pairs may still appear.

Strategic Implications

Restealing on a rainbow river requires caution. Since all draws have completed on the river, an opponent's bet often represents value or a made hand. The resteal by an MP player in this scenario is typically a bluff and needs to assess the opponent's range and fold equity. A typical scenario: MP raises pre-flop, opponent calls in position; flop is rainbow, opponent checks or bets; turn both check; river opponent leads out, and MP raises.

Notes

  • The opponent's fold equity must be sufficiently high, e.g., the opponent is tight-passive.
  • A rainbow board reduces flush possibilities, but hands like straights or sets may still exist.
  • The MP position has a relatively wide range on the river, but resteal bluffs need to be balanced with value ranges.
  • Not recommended in multi-way pots or without history.
