枪口位10个大盲注全下(UTG 10bb Open Jam)

UTG 10bb Open Jam

The action of directly choosing to go all-in when in the Under the Gun UTG position with a stack size of approximately 10 big blinds pre-flop.

Overview

UTG 10bb Open Jam is a preflop aggressive strategy in Texas Hold'em, commonly seen in late tournament stages or short-stacked cash games. UTG (Under the Gun) refers to the position to the immediate left of the big blind, which acts first preflop. 10bb indicates a stack depth of approximately 10 big blinds, which falls within the short-stack range. Open Jam means "open shove," i.e., pushing all chips in directly rather than raising or calling.

Strategy Principles

When the stack size is around 10bb, players typically cannot withstand multiple preflop raises or postflop play after calling, making the all-in a standard choice. When shoving from UTG, the player faces potential calls or re-shoves from all opponents behind, so the hand range must have good equity. Generally, the UTG 10bb Open Jam range lies between tight and very tight, including pairs (e.g., 88+), high cards (e.g., AT+), and some suited connectors (e.g., A5s, KQs, etc.), depending on opponent tendencies and ICM factors.

Notes

  • This strategy is more common in tournaments, as ICM pressure tends to tighten opponents' calling ranges.
  • In cash games, if opponents have loose calling ranges, a tighter range may be required.
  • There is no guarantee that every shove is correct; adjustments should be made based on specific table dynamics.
