枪口位置 75bb 防守(UTG 75bb Defense)

UTG 75bb Defense

Refers to the defensive strategy and range of a player in the UTG position when facing an opponent's raise usually a 3-bet with an effective stack depth of 75 big blinds.

Overview

UTG 75bb Defense is a specific pre-flop defense scenario in Texas Hold'em under a certain stack depth. UTG (Under the Gun) is the earliest acting position pre-flop, with a clear positional disadvantage. When the effective stack depth is 75bb, players need to balance defense and folding to avoid being exploited.

Defense Range and Strategy

  • Defense Range: Typically, UTG's opening range is about 10%-15% of starting hands (e.g., 77+, AQs+, AK, etc.). When facing a 3-bet, defense usually includes calling with some strong hands (e.g., TT-JJ, AQ) and 4-betting some top hands (e.g., KK+, AK); folding medium-strength hands (e.g., 88-99, AJ) to avoid reverse implied odds.
  • Frequency Adjustment: The deeper the stacks (75bb is medium-deep), the more you can call 3-bets to leverage positional skill post-flop; however, the positional disadvantage still exists, so the defense range should not be too wide.
  • Example: UTG opens to 2.5bb with AQo, and the button 3-bets to 8bb. Whether to call or 4-bet depends on the opponent's tendencies; if the opponent 3-bets tightly, folding is an option.

Notes

  • At 75bb, if facing a 5-bet after a 4-bet, shoving is high risk; usually only consider with QQ+.
  • Avoid over-defending, especially in multi-way pots.
  • Positional disadvantage means it's harder to realize equity post-flop, so prefer to call with playable hands (e.g., suited connectors).
