Overview
UTG River Squeeze Paired is a relatively rare specific-scenario strategy, typically referring to a situation where UTG (Under the Gun) opens preflop, then after actions on the flop and turn, the river board pairs. In this scenario, the UTG player either makes a squeeze-style bet or re-raises an opponent's bet.
Strategy Logic
- Value Raise: If the UTG player holds a hand that could make a full house (e.g., a set or two pair), the paired river allows them to squeeze the opponent's calling range and extract more value.
- Bluff Squeeze: When the UTG player has no real hand strength but believes the opponent may be weak on a paired board, they can use the board texture as a bluffing basis, squeezing to force a fold.
