劫持位100大盲全下(HJ 100bb Open Jam)

HJ 100bb Open Jam

The strategy of directly open-jamming from the hijack HJ position with an effective stack depth of about 100 big blinds 100bb.

Overview

HJ 100bb Open Jam refers to an action where a player in the Hijack position (HJ, one seat to the right of the cutoff) holding approximately 100 big blinds (100bb) effective stack chooses to go all-in preflop. This is an extremely aggressive strategy, typically seen in late tournament stages, specific cash game scenarios, or as an exploitative play.

Applicable Scenarios

  • Late Tournament Stages: When the blind level is high and ICM pressure increases, using strong hands or hands with certain blockers to open jam maximizes fold equity and avoids complex postflop decisions.
  • Against Tight-Passive Players: If players in later positions (especially the button and blinds) have a high fold rate, an Open Jam can easily steal blinds and antes.
  • Range Balancing: Strong players mix strong hands (e.g., AA, KK) with some medium-strength hands (e.g., AQ, 99) when open jamming, making it difficult for opponents to read their range.

Considerations

  • At 100bb depth, an all-in carries significant risk because it can be called by stronger hands, resulting in a large loss of chips. It is generally recommended only under specific conditions, such as when opponents have a high fold rate or when your hand has sufficient equity against calling ranges.
  • This strategy is less common in regular cash games, as a standard preflop raise (2.5-3bb) is more typical at 100bb depth to control the pot and maintain flexibility.
  • Adjust dynamically based on opponents' 3-bet and calling ranges. If later-position players have wide calling ranges, an Open Jam may have negative expected value.

Typical Range Example (for reference only)

  • Value Jam: TT+, AQ+. These hands generally have an advantage against calling ranges.
  • Semi-Bluff Jam: AXs, small pairs (e.g., 44-88). Use blockers and the potential to hit strong hands postflop to balance.

Overall, the HJ 100bb Open Jam is a high-risk, high-reward strategy that should be used cautiously, taking into account opponent tendencies, stack depth, and tournament stage.
