Strategic Context
At 15bb, a player is in the “push-fold” zone but may still have enough chips to raise-and-fold to a re-raise from a large stack. The UTG position is the least favorable for stealing because there are more players left to act, increasing the chance of a re-raise or call. However, if the table is tight or players are respecting UTG’s range, a raise can be profitable.

Typical hands used for a UTG 15bb steal include:
- Strong broadways (e.g., AJ+, KQ)
- Pairs (55+)
- Suited aces (A2s+)
- Sometimes suited connectors like 76s if the table is passive
The range is generally tighter than from later positions because of the higher risk of being dominated or re-raised.
